Sarah Kay Design Bridal Collection

Winter weddings are in the works! I know, hard to believe when it is still so hot outside that I am discussing winter.  Maybe the thoughts of cooler times will get me through this summer.

I found the most fantastic snowflake rhinestone buttons on Tophatter the other day.  They inspired this shift in perspective to focus on the upcoming holiday events.

Listed below are some of my newest bridal flower hair clips.  Each is elegant and classy.  The petals and centers are hand stiched by me to ensure everything is in it's place.  The flowers are then secured to a heat sealed ribbon covered single prong alligator clip. (Whew! Say that 3 times fast) I heat seal the ribbon so that the ends don't fray.

Enjoy these pictures and may they bring you cooler thoughts during these hot summer days!

Day One- My Story

I created this blog to journal my way through the creative process.  As long as I can remember, I have always been creative.  Whether it was sewing with my mom, creating the latest and greatest notebook paper and tape purse, or my newest fascination designing jewelry, my hands always craved creating.
So now as I sit here typing this blog, I am taking my creations to a whole new level; starting my own business.  It is exciting and scary and stressful and wonderful.  Everytime I list a new item, I am filled with pride to see my work out there for the public to buy, and yet there is the nagging insecurity of "Is this worthy of someone's money? Am I crazy to think that someone will buy this?"
I push those feelings aside and begin to promote my designs through good ol' social media with a smile on my face screaming to the endless abyss that is the internet, "PLEASE LOOK AT ME!"  Does anyone notice? Does anyone care?  And then it happens.  People start to notice.  People start to care.  "Views" and "favorites" and "pins" and "likes" our society's new way oft showing validation and approval of others.

I can do this.  I can be inspired by and inspire the world with one click on my computer.  Imagine that...a little spec on the planet, me, influencing what someone on the other side of the world wants to accessorize themself with.

So join me here for new inspirations, stories of family and creativity as I design my life.
